Equipment Consoles

Anyone have experience on equipment consoles (police consoles) I've got an 01 sierra that im thinking about getting a console for, but i really don't want to have to rip a boat load of stuff out to put one in. Any companies better than others? Ram-Mount has a set up of my truck and im looking into it

I made my own out of sheet metal. But look on ebay for used ones.

Brandon do you have any pictures of your console? Got a friend with a ranger that needs one to hold his little yaesu 2M. Just need something small but solid.

Dory,

I used a small panavise pole mount in my Ranger. I found it for about $30. I have never had a problem with it in more than 3 years of service.

I'm using a Jotto Desk console for the Impala. We sometimes take them in on trade when installing new public safety equipment.

Companies like Jotto Desk, Gamber Johnson and Troy all build consoles, computer mounts and the like. The problem now is going to be finding the older styles of equipment that fit into a 2001 MY truck.

Cruise eBay and the like to find ones that work for you. Also be sure that your equipment fits into pre-made face plates, or you have the ability to fab your own custom face plates.

There should be plenty of used equipment available with a little luck.
