Quote from an AP article on the Greenburg storm: "The 1.7-mile-wide Category F-5 enhanced tornado, with wind estimated at 205 mph, destroyed about 95 percent of this farming town Friday."

This grim beast has been no laughing matter, but I can't help snickering. An enhanced tornado--now there's a novelty. I wonder who enhanced it and what the improvements consisted of. I doubt this one required much assistance.

Just a point of interest, a reflection on the foibles of the public as it grapples with the new EF scale. It's tempered by news of the latest casualty. Evidently a policeman who was caught in the storm died from his injuries. How terribly sad. The heartache of this event just doesn't quit.
