I'm looking for a service that will email or sms txt message, and I'd like configurable by warning type and county.

I'll even pay if its good... (I know, I know...)

Grab RealEMWIN - you run it on your side and configure to your heart's content. Also lets you get a full feed of weather data for the country (and some international) as a bonus! Free trial at http://skywatch.org -- if you like it, just a one-time reg fee (no other payments associated with it.)

Easy. Go to storm now. It's awesome. I get warnings to a pager. It's like $2 a month and you can get just about anything you want for any counties you want. You can get forecast discussions, mesoscale discussions, warnings, watches, and just about any other weather product you could ever think of. I highly recomend it.
If you want you can set it up to get all kinds of warnings for the county you live in and then other warnings (like tornado) for the entire state. Basically you can get any product for any county and then set up another profile where you get another product for a different region. You are allowed unlimited profiles.

In my opinion, Weather Message is the best EMWIN software out there. It's only around $45 (one time fee) if I recall correctly. Just like RealEMWIN, you configure it to alarm on what products/locations you choose...then you can have it email, page, fax you and can have the alerts pop up on your computer screen and can see a map with the counties color coded by alarm type. www.wxmesg.com

It works best if you can put it on a computer that can run 24/7..this way it is always there to alert you. It can grab data from the internet, satellite, VHF rebroadcast, or NOAAPort. The internet feed works very well and is free.
