I came this report where lightning caused a gaping hole to be punched into a Delta Airline fuselage, near the pilot's cabin.
I thought this was a bit unusual, because I mostly have heard that both car bodies and planes aren't terribly susceptible to lightning damage. Perhaps it looks worse than it is, or at least the peoples inside were safe all along? Possibly lightning is hotter due to global warming? (i kid, i kid )

** edit: mods please delete. when i first viewed this article this morning it said lightning. It looks like a fire was the culprit. Carry on!
