Here are a couple of news stories about a deadly tornado that struck southern Brazil on 11/08/2025, killing six people. The tornado was estimated to have winds of 155mph (EF-3) and struck near Guarapuava, about 340 miles southwest of Sao Paulo, or about 180 miles west of the Atlantic coast, well inland. A reminder that deadly tornadoes can occur anywhere in the world, not just the U.S. It is now spring in southern Brazil, similar to the peak season in our Tornado Alley.
