• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Hey guys!

Hey I bought a used Cyfre CA819 Amplifier. I have it all hooked up and the LED light turns on but how else do I know if its working right? It makes no noise etc?

Anything I can do to check it?

It will raise the signal up on the device . Only way to tell if it is working is to check signal reading on device. Do not power on the amplifier without being connected to an antenna and a device or you will fry the amplifier.

Gordon,

Would the LED light up if it was fried? Just want to make sure I didnt get a dead product.

I have it plugged in....hooked up to a cradle for my iphone and then an external antenna on my roof

I have went to using a tethered iPhone for my data this year vs last year using a data card that accepted and external antenna connection. I can't tell that the external amp/antenna makes any difference at all now with the iPhone.

Yes it would still light up . Direct connect amps work great except with iphone 4 . The antenna location on them is in bad location , it makes it difficult to get good induction connection. On iphone 3 make sure your induction adapter is on back at bottom , slightly off centre to the right. With Iphone 4 you really need to go with wireless amplifier to be effective

I am using the IPhone 4 and figured it had something to do with the unique antenna design of the phone. I may have to look into getting a wireless amp for next year. Gordon last year when I was researching the amps I read
on your site I believe that the wireless amps didn't work as good for data as the direct connect. Has the technology improved since then????

Gordon,

I have the induction cradle, so there is not antenna to attach to the back of my Iphone 3G. Does the cradle not work with the Iphone?

I bought the new Maximum Signal wireless SCT In Car this year. It has really boosted my Sprint card and Iphone 4. I am getting a signal in areas that I usually dropped out.
