What does crapvection mean? A poor form of convection or something? Also, is it an official term used by meteorologists or more of a slang term?
 
Definitely a slang term ;)

Yeah, you pretty much got it. I typically use crapvection to refer to the early-in-the-day elevated storms that can drain the atmosphere of instability on a chase day.
 
Any kind of thunderstorm activity that is in an area where severe was expected / hoped-for, but clearly won't become worth a chase.
