CNN piece on potential impacts from DOGE and Admin Change

Not trying to get a political debate started, but with all the news focused on other impacts from the "Department of Government Efficiency" and other executive branch policy changes, not much has made the news about potential impacts to NWS. Today CNN ran a story on potential impacts to NWS. Another story here too: DOGE now has access to NOAA's IT systems; reviewing DEI program, sources say

I posted previously about Project 2025 and the desire for some to break up NOAA and force the NWS to become a commerical entity - which would mean goodbye free weather data.

This is another area that I would say is key to write to your representatives, because nothing good will come from privatising this.

KRLD radio in Dallas aired a CBS News Radio story this morning that said NOAA, parent of NWS, was told to expect a 50% staff cut and 30% budget cut. The story did not identify who did the telling, nor did it identify sources.

The only thing DOGE is going to do is get rid of the DEI garbage inside NOAA.... they aren't going to "break anything up". CNN can't be trusted with anything.
