Hey gang,

Finally went to Best Buy today and picked up Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9. But in my haste, I accidentally grabbed the Platinum instead of the Platinum Pro edition.

Should I run it back and exchange it for Platinum Pro, or are Platinum's feature's sufficient to get me by? I bought the software because I'm editing the May 23rd chapter for Storms of 2008, as well as for editing/compiling my own chase footage, so I want to be sure I have the right software for the job.

If anyone could give me some advice ASAP, that would be fantastic - I already have several videos coming my way, so I need to know sooner rather than later. Thanks!

Mark, I have both and don't really see the need for Pro unless you really want to do high tech stuff. I was just as happy with the original and should have saved my money.

Umm, so is anybody going to give me any advice, or am I wasting my time even asking?

I would imagine that most people have experience with one or the other, not both which is why the lack of response. Personally I'm not a fan of Sony Vegas products, I use only Adobe Premiere CS3. Honestly though, if all you are wanting is to edit video then it should work fine for you.

Im not for sure Mark but looking on the Sony sight the Platinum Pro includes Cinescore.

Cinescore will help you with your soundtrack you will want to create. i dont know what Cinescore loops or what have you are included. But it might be worthwhile if you need help with the music and scoring.
