A lot of photographers gravitate toward the color blue. I don't know why but there's something about that wavelength that intrigues humans. Sense of peace, tranquility maybe? I'm also one of those who chase all things blue. Blue violet in particular is far and away my favorite color, but blue storms of any shade, from turquoise to Tanzanite, are gorgeous. When the weather cooperates and gives me something blue, those shots become favorites.

So...since you guys have posted some *fantastic* natural big-hail green scenes, let's do blue ones! Hurricane, tornado, lightning, blizzard, ice storm--you call it (but natural colors/non-tweaked only please). I would love to see your gorgeous blue storms!

I'll start with a few in blue.

As my brother will tell you, twilight or 'Magic Hour' is a great time for dramatic deep blue sky which comes out great on stills.

Very cool Susan. The second one from the bottom is my favorite out of those...I think.

Here are 2 from May 10, 2005 east of Grand Island. It was actually dark out in both. I think where the flash is coming from helps determine the coloring. The first one is closer to sunset and maybe some of the remaining light helped with the white balance being different from the second later one.

Next one is from May 5, 2003.

Next one from August 5, 2003. Some lights from an electrical plant as well as Fremont were helping give that redish color to the bottom.

Oh yeah, amazing shots, guys! I always love blue colors on pics, especially when it shows how clear is the air. Here is some of my photos:
