Best radar app for Mac/iOS AND living outside the USA?

It is not often I get envious of PC users but I do whenever I chase as I have a Mac and iOS. I love GRLevel as well as I really liked Pykl. I have gotten around to install RadarScope on my Mac as well as Radar Pro on my iPhone 8. RadarScope is fine but I had to go a whole detour in order to buy it in Sweden: start a US Apple account (which required a US address) etc and now I can't update it, run Pro or anything. I can't download it to my iPhone either.

How have you, fellow non-US-residents with MacOS/iOS, solved this? Any suggestions on how to use RadarScope Pro without too much hassle?

Last year someone in Switzerland asked how they could run the iOS variant of my app (only available in US) and really the only good option was to let them participate in my TestFlight which they seemed to get working despite not being in the US: TestFlight - Apple Developer

You might want to contact support for RadarScope and see if you can participate in their "TestFlight".

Hi Christoffer, interesting to read that you have difficulties with installing Radarscope in Sweden. In the Netherlands it's in our app store, so installing it on iphone/Ipad/Mac isn't any problem. I usually get replies quite quickly from Radarscope on Twitter, that might do? It can't be to much hassle to provide for you Swedish chasers as well! Good luck!

I don't know about iOS, but on android devices Pykl can still be made to work with an easy setting change.
Run the app. Go to settings, then 'data providers' then choose NWS, and check the 'allow https access' box, and restart the app. (I would assume the iOS version would be very similar.)

@ChristofferB I talked with Mike Wolfinburger who leads the development team at RadarScope today. He told me to have you reach out to their support group at [email protected]. They can get it added to the app store in your country. It requires some setup on their end, and they will not publicize it, but they are aware that chasers who visit from overseas want the app and are happy to help.

Rather like @Bonne van der Veen I, too, use RadarScope, but here in the UK - it was just on the App store on iOS - I downloaded it no problem and subscribed to Pro. I've also dowloaded the Windows version onto my laptop, but I don't think it's as functional as the iOS one on my iPad.

Randy and Paul: Thanks. I have emailed the support for RadarScope but they haven't gotten back to me. I will try this email address and ask Mike specifically!

@ChristofferB glad that helped. Until I asked Mike about your issue, I had no idea that app creators had to jump thru hoops to sell apps in multiple countries on Apple's store.
