Back to Back Bad Chase Weeks?

Might my luck be running out? I had a few GREAT years chasing the week of May 12th, but this year isnt looking so hot (NW Flow could ruin my week). I had always picked this week as a good one.

Wondering if I should push it further back for years ahead?

It's the luck of the draw my man... Personally I prefer later May but I have come up empty-handed then too - sometimes missing what came before (perhaps in your week!) and other times seeing things light up in early or mid June when I was already back home.

Any way you could get a little flexibility in your schedule? That way you can target the week of May 12, but if it doesn't look good you just delay until it does. You probably can't do that for too long, but even being able to shift it by three to seven days would help...

I am scheduled to head out for May 19, but if it doesn't look good I will delay until as late as May 23. I will stay two weeks from whenever I start, but I do want to be back by June 7, hence the latest start date of May 23.

I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide!

I chose 5/16-20 as chase days back when I had to commit to days off, get flights, etc. It's really looking like a bust so far, I only wish I had some date-flexibility. Sigh.

Quite a few people are chasing late May this year it seems. I wont be able to leave until the 23rd, but I have a good 3-4 weeks to play with. Those 9 day trips were a little more stressful. At least now I can assume at least something will pop up.... hopefully. Plus I am praying I will end up in SD toward that last week lol. I think I remember Diaz saying he picked the 23rd as well. Lets hope we all bring the mojo aye?

I'm chasing from the 17th to 31st so thankfully missing this coming week, last two weeks of May have always given me something (apart from 2003) in the 7 chases I've managed, not the biggest and best but touchdowns do count in my opinion. Have been a bit nervy about this years patterns but at least there has been folk out there who have bagged some tornadoes and got some real nice structure shots. Heard that moisture is going to take a holiday for a week or more but still a good opportunity for some chases upon it's return I guess and as I get reminded things can and do change quickly... I guess first few days will get some driving practice in as I'm coming in from the UK :)
