Assist live with storm chasing questions Monday 8/11

Because no one uses it anymore.

I stopped using it because, LITERALLY, the past few months, every time I log in, it's me and one other person in the room, and that person leaves a few seconds after I arrive. I figure if I'm such bad company that an empty room is a better option....f*ck'em.

Same thing happens to me. I don't think there's anyone actually leaving right at that time, I think it's just the software creating that illusion.

Just because there usually isn't anyone in the room doesn't mean we can't have some of us using it Monday. It works fine. There's no technical problem.

I figured that was probably the deal, because it was so consistent. But aggravating nonetheless.

Same thing also happens to me. I think it's a bug in the code that makes the chat room work. When I'm done I have to just close the tab/window or manually type in another URL because if I hit the "logout" button, the screen kinda blanks for a split second but then comes right back without changing, so I'm sure the logout process is not working.

Probably more of an oversight. Most chat clients send server->client pings to see if users are still there. For whatever reason, the list of active sessions isn't updated when a client disconnects. So a new user joins and sees the "ghosts". The server says "oh boy, we have a new user, lets check for active sessio- oops! Here's some sessions I didn't nuke, better do it now!"

The logout button thing is definitely a bug, don't worry about it. Just close the tab/browser. The worst thing that could happen is if someone had access to your computer they could potentially resume your StormTrack chat session. Most people save their password anyways, which renders that a moot point.

The chat is also very bad at handling poor latency connections, has problems with Chrome, and a few other things. I wouldn't expect much from it beyond the basic ability to chat with people along with some minor annoyances.

Regarding today's chat, I don't think I will need your help after all. The campaign was a bit of a failure and we didn't really get enough questions anyway.

Thanks for the will to help out anyway, I really appreciate it!
