Hello, how long does it take for membership to get fully approved after making payment. I paid about 7 days ago but am still not approved as a full member.

Hi Zach, welcome to Stormtrack. If you are posting here on the board you are a member. New members must wait 30 days before they have posting privileges in the Target Area forums as these forums have a much stricter posting policy that new users must take note of. You can PM me if you are having any further problems with the boards.

I went through the application process and then paid some money but I am still getting the message highlighted below. Does this go away after a while? Can someone tell me if you have recieved my payment? Sorry for the hassle. Thanks Mark

Welcome guys.

As the severe season moves closer, remember that some updates and corrections may take a little bit of time as many of the admins and moderators will likely be busy work, chasing, or nowcasting. Patience with folks here is always appreciated. I'm sure you'll find the overall experience here very rewarding, especially if you chase or are planning on chasing in the near future.

I also have the same notice at the top of the page. It can wait, of course, but I just wanted to bring it to the attention of the admins that there is an error. If this is normal, maybe it can be resolved by rewording the notice.

OK -- we are apparently having some issues with the board software that I didn't know about. We did phase out the subscriptions a couple of months ago, as we appeared to be solvent enough to meet all of our expenses over the next year. However apparently we did not fix all of the messages left over from the subscription era. I will get this changed right away. Any donations that have been made since February 12 are refundable, however for those which stay in place your account will be upgraded to VIP status with the "Stormtrack supporter" tag over the weekend.

Also for those of you reporting the "cannot post" errors... we need specific details about which forum you were trying to post in. It is true that you cannot post in Target Area until 30 days have elapsed... this is to make sure new members are fully acquainted with posting policies and requirements in that forum.

"Your account is not fully active. However the board software should not be displaying this notice. Please notify a moderator or administrator NOTICE_3_HTML was displayed so it can be fixed."

I'm having no trouble posting in the normal forum. I haven't been a member long enough to post in the Target Area, but I'll let you know if I have any problems with it once I can.

I'm having the same notice show up as well.

OK -- I have determined the cause of the "your account is not active" message listed above. This was due to a corrupt system setting. The board did NOT individually check your account settings to see whether you have full permissions but was simply showing it to all accounts less than 30 days old after log-in. This was a mistake due to a recent reconfiguration of the usergroups and I have removed the erroneous status notice. As long as you can post on all the boards (not counting Target Area) your account is fully active.

Also another change effective this morning: the 30-day restriction on new accounts has been removed for Historical Storm Chases, since it is not subject to Target Area rules.

I just joined the forum about a week ago. I assume that I will have to wait 30 days before receiving full posting privileges like the previous poster stated? Is this policy still in place?

Matthew,

Tim (the site administrator) will go through the new accounts and approve them on a periodic basis, but mostly what it involves is a little patience from the end user. If you can hang tight he'll get you taken care of. In the meantime there is plenty of material to read in order to get a feel for Stormtrack and the members who spend time here. Thanks for your patience.

Okay, thanks Mike. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything on my end.
