• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

A cyclone menaces Estonia

Today, a number of reports about downed trees have emerged from Western half of Estonia. Wind gusts up to 24,8 m/s have been measured in some Estonian places. I have been lucky here, in the southeastern part of the country, as far as winds go, I had just some heavy rain downpours, with strong winds. Overnight I had 17,3 mm of rain, most of them came in a few squalls over the night hours. One of the strongest squalls was between 3-4 AM in the morning when very strong rain along with heavy winds stroke so loud that it awakened the family members and me.

The strangest report from today comes from Järva county, where around 5 AM, people were awakened by the tempest conditions. This squall had destroyed a number of trees, damaged roofs and even ripped off a satellite dish from a house. A local newspaper has published some pictures from that event there. Interestingly, no such winds that could do such a damage were measured by any of the EMHI's weather stations in the area, so there had to be some local very strong squalls.

There was also convective activity, I had heard thunder rumble at least once today, but mostly I have just had to settle with seeing cumulonimbus clouds, I was able to do this time lapse of one departing CB cloud here. Last night, air was so humid that even past midnight, the air temperature was in low over 18 degrees Celsius. Also, yesterday, there was apparent directional wind shear in the atmosphere with higher clouds.

Just thought I'd let you know what the weather had been up to.
