Another marginal chase day today. Heading to Hobbs, NM. There is a rope cloud on visible satellite which I can see as one of the outflow boundaries from yesterday's convection. RUC forecasts higher CAPES to impinge on this boundary later today. Expect storms to fire in SE NM and SW TX and drift SE. TM

I'm about to head to Amistad, NM. This will be a center point for me to blast north or south if I have to as the storms form on the higher terrain. Like Stuart said, it's a marginal day at best. Low and mid level flow is very weak and the cap is also very weak. I think the storms will blob out like they did yesterday. I'm just hoping to go out and maybe get some good shelf cloud pics and sample a few hail cores.
