Just one pic and brief report for tonight.....full report tomorrow..

Our target today was either far eastern TX or northern Louisiana. Early afternoon, we arrived in Milam close to the Louisiana border, deep cumulus were grouping across the border. We soon came to realise that chasing in LA is difficult with such an extensive forested area, however we spotted glaciating tops northeast of Natchitoches and did our best to get near them...by 3pm, we'd cornered a large apparent multicell which was developing WNW of Saline, we noted some overshoot on the western quadrant of the storm. We proceeded towards Saline and rounded a bend around 3.30pm to line up a great looking wall cloud with sporadic lightning bolting from the main updraft area. We pulled over and photographed and videoed the passage and watched rain wrap around its western edge. The spectacular sight lasted about 20 minutes before the storm collapsed into a deluging rain area with flash flooding in Saline and nearby areas.

Simon Brewer and I documented some high-based, outflow-dominant storm:)s in the Alpine, TX region. One cell was forced ESE towards Marathon,TX and transformed into an incredible Mothership HP Supercell! We got some of the best structure shots with the sunset in the background today! Amazing structure!

Edit: The photo was taken from my poor digital camera before the supercell really looked amazing. Simon has some amazing shots that we, unfortunately, don't have the software with us to load on the computer right now. (Also the year on the pic is wrong...hey, I'm tired!)
