I chased a lone severe warned storm outside of Okolona, MS today. Had some beautiful structure to it and wasnt moving as fast as some of the ones im used to dealing with.

It was a fairly small storm and only effected the northern portions of chickasaw county. With that said, it was low topped and very intense. Hail the size of golf-balls were reported from this storm in nettleton in addition to earlier wind damage in bruce. It started transitioning into a more linear type storm and i left it near amory.

Another small cluster came through and lent a hand to a once a year type sunset.

Looking back, i probably should have stayed with the northern cells but im happy with what i got. The full report with higher-quality photos is on my site. Congrats to anyone else who got something out there today. It sure was active.

Might want to add GA to the title...

I was in ATL last weekend, at an airport hotel Sunday night when the red box was issued, contrary to the expectations I had that afternoon, when the threat was supposed to stay in AL. To avoid temptation, once the watch was issued I took the car back to Hertz early, LOL.

I figured I could nap until 1AM-ish, and if I woke up, fine. At 1245 the sirens went off and I turned on local TV weather...more interested in Dagmar Midcap than the collapsing cell that might have a TVS for one or two scans but didn't impress me otherwise. Still, a good trip and an unexpected storm!
