Finally this spring I got something I've been hoping for/wanting for years...
Thundersnow!!

(Rare stuff here, its probably been a couple decades since I last saw one, and at that lightning is uncommon in march!)
I didn't even have to go anywhere for this one, it came right to me.

Leaving work, it was cloudy and I thought 'those clouds look a bit convective' (wasn't raining or anything, so I thought nothing more of it).
Later I was at home inside & heard what I thought was hard rain on the roof, so I grabbed the camcorder I went down to see if there was anything worth getting (figuring I'd get a little rain/snow vid that evening).
I looked out & what was falling wasn't rain, but looked like small hail. So I moved to the patio door & started videoing. (by then the hail had converted to "bean-bag snow"(also known as graupel)).
Then I saw it, a flash of lightning & after a short delay a quiet rumble of thunder! Was a bit excighted to finally get to see one of these storms after its been so long! (not to mention perfect timing on starting recording).
Continued to watch (and video) for a bit, seeing a few more flashes of lightning.
Precip converted over to heavy snow & lightning was over after around 6 minutes.
I closed the door & moved to a different window to watch the snow for a bit. The way it was coming down looked a bit like a blizzard.
After the period of heavy snow, it tapered off to just very light snow, which lasted late into the night.
Total accumulation was only around an inch.

The flashes of lightning don't show up real well on camera, but 1st image (frame-grab from video) one of them is kinda visible in the space between the trees.
2nd photo shows small hail/graupel on the ground.
3rd photo (frame-grab) is heavy snow falling.
4th photo snow-covered deck.
