Yet another cold front will make landfall in northern California Saturday morning. The NAM is forecasting cold air aloft (-25 at 500 mb), 60 knot plus bulk shear, and 500 plus CAPE for the early afternoon in and around Tehama, Colusa and Glenn Counties in the northern Sacramento Valley. If convection can get going, rotating updrafts are again a possibility. Parameters look as good or even slightly better than Wednesday when there were two confirmed tornadoes. As it was this past Wednesday, presence/absence of adequate buoyancy will be the key to getting things going.
