I have relocated from NC for a variety of reasons and yes even in VT sometimes you can get lucky. I chased down to the Burlington Waterfront (Battery Park) in VT to catch an organized squall line as it crossed Lake Champlain as it was getting dark. I knew it would likely have a nice shelf cloud with it and sure enough it did and then some! I only had a point and shoot with me so I did the best I could. I was even lucky enough to grab some lightning with it in a couple of pics. With all of that in mind I took lemons and made lemonade in lightroom. I gave the following shots a painterly feel:
