2012-09-21 REPORTS: IL/IN

Friday September 21 brought a better-than-expected chase event in IL/IN, with several low-topped supercells tracking east across southern and central IL. I was on the storm tracking near I-64, which displayed a large RFD clear slot, rotating lowerings and several transient needle funnels. I followed the storm from New Baden to Irvington, IL. The storm may also have been responsible for starting fire in a large grain bin with lightning in Irvington, IL - the town was filled with smoke from the grain bin as I passed through on my way home.
