I woke up with 0 intention on chasing, but decided to head out around 1:30. After filling up and grabbing lunch at macdonalds, I was on the road about 1:45. I headed up I-35 to US-412 west through Enid. I decided to make a run on the storm that developed to my north by Cherokee which would end up being the storm of the day. Caught 3 tornadoes near Wakita. The first one was a quick swirl up under a rapidly rotating wall cloud, the second a beautiful elephant trunk and a third rope tornado simultaneously with the second tornado.

Chase Recap

What a heck of a day for September!

Reports: OK

Left my house in North Edmond right at 1pm and Headed N. on I35 to US 51, took it West until Highway 51a North at Southard. Caught up with what would become the storm of the Day, just as it
started to appear on Radar, at US 11 and 51a at Burlington. Was going to hang with it on US 11 out of Byron, but got pinched between the new forward flank that had developed to my SW, so I turned
around went back to Burlington, went south on 51a to Ingersoll, then East, back on US 11....was just able to get out in front of it a bit when I got pulled over and parked, I got out and noticed the Elephant
trunk tornado, directly over US 11 to my west a few miles, then I saw the rope tornado! I couldn't confirm that the elephant trunk tornado was on the ground but assumed it was. Definitely could see the
debris cloud being kicked around from the rope tornado. I was able to catch the possible third tornado, but had to add a heavy contrast to the photo to bring it out. The first image has the first two tornadoes
in it, the second image is the heavily contrasted, rain wrapped tornado.

After the chase, I was able to meet Mr. Ben Holcomb...really nice guy! Hope to see him again out on the chase! ;) Great to meet you Ben!

Woke up late not expecting to chase that day, hadn't looked at any weather setups as it was a busy work week. Decided to peek at the forecast and saw the potential up North. Left the house about 1:30 in Moore and arrived near Wakita about 5 minutes before the storm. As it drew closer I could faintly make out the elephant trunk in the distance. Shortly thereafter it put down the rope about 300 yards away. This was my first daytime tornado. Sorry for the rough video, but you can see the two tornadoes from a different vantage point.
