Adam Lucio, Jennifer Brindley, Jonathan Williamson and I were making our way home from Nebraska and got off to a late start so we weren't actively chasing this day. We were treated to a gorgeous sky on the back end of a tornado warned complex in north central IL, however, featuring double rainbows, mammatus, and fiery sunset colors.
As if Ma Nature was trying to get me back for a couple of prefect days shooting tornadoes with no misfortune, we arrived back at my house to find that a tree had fallen on it. Luckily there was only very minor damage:
There was wide spread straight line wind damage to trees across the whole town, and our power was out for a good 12 hours. The third time since last year I've come from a successful chase trip to find the power out and trees down everywhere.
