Well, hopefully someone else who actually saw a funnel cloud will post something. (Yuba city just had a tornado report BTW).
When there was the tornado warning right to the north of Sacramento, I headed out, zigging from I-50 to I-80 and zagging to eventually take some pictures of the storm retreating to the hills from around Auburn and Colfax rd. There's a 24-hour fitness there, and I got a bit of pea-size hail in the parking lot. Had some trouble with the broadband-2-go on the way, but eventually got that going and took a screen capture of the no-longer-tornado-warned storm on GR 3.

Might be a wall cloud here, but I saw no rotation or anything else to report, but it was pretty and there was some lightning, which is good for CA in June in the valley.IMG_2883.jpgGR3-gpsscreenshot6-1-11.jpg

Well...today was a bust for me. I decided to hang out around Corning where there was good surface convergence and some low level shear but not much 500 flow. It turned out to be pulse storm city. I purposefully avoided the Sac metro complex where it looked as if upper air support was somewhat better. There was a tornado warning (funnel cloud sighted) as Jason indicated just east of the Sacramento area and another confirmed tornado to the north around the Yuba City/Marysville area. I guess marginal (less than 20 knots) 500 flow is good enough in some instances. Here's a link to a video posted by a local news station showing the Yuba City funnel cloud... pretty nice structure. http://www.kcra.com/r-video/28102580/detail.html
