Although yesterday's wx in IL wasn't severe, it was definitely a nice change. Observed a few interesting lowerings outside of Decatur IL including a small wall cloud as well as rainbow and likely funnel towards dusk. It was all in association with storms lifting across the state during the early afternoon. I didn't see any lightning but heard there was up towards Chicago. Overall, helped with the sds which i'm sure everyone can relate. Timing couldn't have been better considering TWC was just up the road at ILX Lincoln talking about their above average annual precip.

I heard some reports of small hail in the area in northern Illinois, but did not witness any. However, it did storm rather well for about an hour. Real strong CG lightning and heavy downpours at times. All in all, not a bad storm to watch..
