short: Intercepted fairly long-lived supercell that tracked from Eads to W of Lamar to Springfield. Overall, very nice high-based supercell structure, slightly undercut the whole time, very strong easterly inflow 35-40mph. Came to a dead-end on a ranch road and eventually got cored. Waded through water-logged grated county road ~ 25 SSW Lamar, serendipitously leading to outstanding "in the wake of" storm structure with mammatus-filled sky, golden and pink hues, etc. Very memorable late-summer chase, of course, sans tornado.
