We already have one tornado report out of Idaho today:

1900 3 SW BURLEY CASSIA ID 4251 11383 TORNADO SPOTTED BY CASSIA COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTY ALONG 200 WEST. NO DAMAGE REPORTED. WAS ON THE GROUND FOR LESS THAN 5 MINUTES. (PIH)

Given that a newly-formed cell was nearly stationary over the area at the time, I would speculate that it was a landspout.

Blaine and Butte Counties currently seeing some stronger cells, as well as a cell that has sat over Jerome, Idaho for an hour or so. Bet they're seeing some good rain even with the low dewpoints.

Elsewhere, a few cells have begun to develop in the wilds of Central Wyoming, though the moisture is not very good there. (forecast CAPEs for the area were up to 1,250J/kg for this afternoon.)

I just noticed the Tornado report. I would also speculate that this was a landspout. The instability is increasing for my area slowly. Still enough time for some development over my area which is in the Right quadrant of that low. New cells developing close to where that tornado was reported and the storms again are extremely slow to move. Plenty of lightning with each storm that pops up. Am hoping for a photo op here but am not that optimistic that it will happen. The sun can barely penetrate the cloud deck of cirrus over my area.

Am doing time-lapse and hope at least for some convection to pop up to make the video more interesting.

Will update if anything pops up.........

It looks like it's quieting down in Idaho a bit. Moisture just doesn't seem to be as high as forecast. I'm not sure the good CAPE will be realized in Wyoming. The 18Z NAM has 1,000J/Kg+ north of Cheyenne, WY by 0Z but the Td right now is only 12ºF.

The system responsible for the landspout has stalled and hasnt moved at all. If this low can get moving my area might have a chance. Like Dann mentioned, Moisture is struggling and my area is dryer than ever. The sun has come out for a while now and the instability is getting better, but if this system stays where its at and has no eastward progress then by the time it gets here the instability would have decreased and just allowed for showers.

Still crossing my fingers for at least some cumulus or at least some convection to get my blood going. Kind of boring at the moment.

This could be the last update for this thread. Hopefully not........
