How did you realize your love for weather?

I’m British, it comes with the territory.

When did you decide you wanted to storm chase?

When I was living back at home after university, watching Discovery Channel…

How long have you been actively chasing?

1 Year – I’m a noob!

Do you chase for a reason?

Only for my love of BIG Weather

Do you see passion as a good or bad thing?

Good, in small doses.

Do you prefer to chase alone or with a group?

With a group – I’m very sociable and love learning about new people.

Have you ever considered going on a storm chase tour?

Yes, that’s where I started and will be again in 2015. I didn’t really

have other options.

How do you feel about the current state of storm chasing?

It’s an interesting one… I might answer this again after this year…

Which era of chasing would you prefer to exist? Old-school or new-school?

Both have their charms

How far are you willing to travel for a good set up?

Halfway round the world ! As far as needs be.

What are your favorite areas to chase? Least favorite?

Can’t answer this one, it’s all new to me!

Fun ones, with something new to see.

Have you ever feared for your life?

Nope.

Are you afraid to make dangerous maneuvers while chasing? (I.E – core punching/hook slicing/living in the bears cage)

Nope, those are the exciting bits!

Do you have any superstitions?

Nope.

Would you sacrifice a salaried job with full benefits, but only 2 weeks out of the year to chase for a paycheck to paycheck life with unlimited chasing?

I’m working on the “Working for yourself and opening an office in the USA” approach.

Are you currently doing anything job related to the weather?

No I should have done Meterology at University, but the career I’ve chosen instead is paying it’s way.

Have you ever been to ChaserCon?

No. I can’t yet afford 2 transatlantic flights a year!

Are you more likely to hang out with other chasers while waiting for initiation, or sit alone on a country road watching the sky?

Hang out with other people, it passes the time better and people are fascinating, especially from other countries.

What is your favorite storm chase and why?

It’s yet to come.

What date burns in you (think bust) and why?

Pilger 2014 – I flew out of the USA after a week of busts on the 13th June… JetLag and knowing I’d missed a big one really hurt.

Do you always know why you made the wrong or right decisions to chase a particular day?

Every day is a good chase day.

How did you learn what you know about forecasting and meteorology?

Online, fellow chasers, DVD’s, BBC & Discovery Channel!

Do you consider the day a success even if you don’t witness a tornado?

Yes, Big Weather is fascinating. Whatever it is.

Do you feel short changed if you see a tornado from a greater distance to you than you prefer?

I’d like to see one from any distance!!!

How do you feel about the post “Storm Chaser” generation?

N/a

Do you feel like the scientific community should get the same respect as emergency vehicles around storms?

hmmm… there are a lot of ways this one could swing.

How you do you feel about the media in regards to the weather and chasing?

In the UK, the media hypes up everything so you can’t see the wood for the trees…

Would you considering getting your children into storm chasing?

Yes.

If you didn’t know anything about storm chasing, how would you react if your child said they wanted to be a chaser?

When are we going!

What do you fear most about a storm?

Nothing. That it’ll blow itself out before doing anything exciting.

What type of storm do you prefer to chase? (Ugly HP/sculpted LP/classic/squall line)

Anything. They’ve all got their plus points.

Do you have a job that supports storm chasing?

Not as such, but I’m working on it…

Do you have a family that supports storm chasing?

Yes, My parents joined me for my first tour in 2014… they’re pretty epic. My brother is also interested but can’t afford it yet.

How long do you plan on chasing?

As long as my body lets me, then as long as my mind does on the internet
