I can’t remember a time in my life when I wasnt interested in weather.

When did you decide you wanted to storm chase?

I didn’t get to decide, once my parents realized my crazy obsession, they acted on it. I am very fortunate to have a dad that took the time and spent the money to take me chasing my first few years.

Do you chase for a reason?

To see more of something I enjoy

I always had to chase with someone until I got my licence last August

No, however I did go on a few “On call chases” with Roger Hill when my dad could not take me

How far are you willing to travel for a good set up (in miles)?:

What are your favorite areas to chase? Least favorite?

I love my high plains action, even more locally, the Palmer Divide is a backyard treasure. West Kansas and Nebraska along with East Colorado/WY are all awesome and consume the majority of my chases.

What is you favorite type of set up to chase? Least favorite?

Dryline setups are great cold fronts are bait.

What is your most memorable chase? Least memorable?

Bennington was the best tornado I have seen due to the fact that we were able to sit in one spot and watch the whole life cycle of the supercell and then tornado.

Have you ever feared for your life?

Are you afraid to make dangerous maneuvers while chasing? (I.E – core punching/hook slicing/living in the bears cage)

I prefer to stay back and sometimes that pisses off the people I chase with. So, I will get close when I feel comfortable

Besides shooting ENG video for the nightly news, no.

Yes, ever year since 2008

Are you more likely to hang out with other chasers while waiting for initiation, or sit alone on a country road watching the sky?

I like to chat with friends earlier in the day, but once towers go up I would rather be alone.

What is your favorite storm chase and why?

Besides Bennington, on May 7, 2014 we chased a storm near Akron, Colorado that produced one supercellular and countless landspouts, all of which were high contrast. Since if was a great storm an only 3 hours from home, it was probably my favorite chase of that year.

Who are the most influential people to you out in the field?

Roger Hill, Tim Marshall, Tim Samaras, Scott McPartland have all greatly influenced or even really helped me with my chasing.

What do you fear most about a storm?

Lightning, beautiful, but man that shit is scary.

Do you have a family that supports storm chasing?

Indeed, without the support of my dad, I would not be where I am today.

How long do you plan on chasing?

As long as I am still ingesting air into my lungs.
