base reflectivity showed a still developing bow-echo over Spencer, Nebraska on Sunday mid-afternoon, 2026-05-17 .

But with significant-severe winds blowing...
the extra force & enhanced stress on the flagpole with the flag attached compromised the integrity of this pole.

The very large flag shown in a phone photo should have been lowered...
or removed altogether in anticipation of wet, thundery, & windy weather.

Hindsight's 20-20...
but this resultant structural failure seen in my photo could have been avoided if someone paid more attention to the weather & the flag.
