I took a drive down to Northern Indiana to intercept this beast of a storm coming out of the Chicago area. I was at work all day (7a-5p EDT) on Monday and had to work Tuesday (7a-5p) so I didn't go all out and go down to Chicago like I had wanted.
Nonetheless, a PDS Severe Thunderstorm Watch got me to go to Northern Indiana. I made it to about Lakeville, IN (South of South Bend, IN) before finding a place to take the brunt of the storm. I had between 60 and 65 MPH gusts come over me and rock my truck. The Weather Channel called and I did a live phoner with Jim Cantore (A first for me). After a website plug on TWC, our webserver promptly puked (My fault - I left KeepAlive on in the httpd.conf
)
I arrived home around 3am. Nothing like going to work on 3 hours sleep!
Here's a Shelf Cloud picture I captured from the video

Here's an awesome lightning strike I got as well while driving

(Clicking the pictures will bring up the full sized image)
I also added a video at http://www.severestudios.com/August-4-2008-Northern-Indiana-Derecho-Video
