Lightning in Illinois continues to be cooperative and spectacular this year. During several rounds of thunderstorms in the St. Louis metro yesterday, I was able to capture the initiation of bidirectional leaders (how lightning starts) at 6,002 fps - a "bucket list" item - near St. Morgan, Illinois! I just finished the video for this event:
