WRF model under Windows

I agree! with Angel! Save yourself the heartache and pay for it!

Let me put it this way. It will take you DAYS to get this working if you know whats going on.

I will most likely pick up a copy before chase season.

Angel the server version of VMware is free and open source as far I can tell. I have used it many times to try things out. Windows , Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD they all worked.

Nice. So no need to pay for VMware and in the same time to use many CPUs.

WRF works fine on clusters. About the Knoppix, I had this idea before few years. I will look in the future if I can do it.

Running demo of MeteOS

I wanted to try out MeteOS, so I downloaded the file. It is called "meteos-1.1-2008.05.18-demo.exe". Since it has "demo" in the name, I assumed it was something I could try before buying. I have VMWare Server installed (latest version, 1.0.6), and I installed the MeteOS demo. When I run it, I need a password to log into the Linux virtual machine. I don't see anything on the VMWare web site about a password, so I'm assuming the user id and password were something set by MeteOS when I installed it, but I don't see anything on the MeteOS web site about a demo password. This is my first attempt to use VMWare and my total Linux experience is about 10 minutes of accomplishing nothing before giving up, so I'm obviously pretty new to this. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Wayne

Hi Everyone,

Years ago I was using Meteos 1.0. But now I don't have the installation file, and Angel website is down.
Does anyone still have the installation file for it? I can't find a way to contact Angel too, Previously I have been in contact with him over Skype and email - back in 2006-2008.

Or if anyone knows other software (free or paid) for running WRF-ARW under Windows that would be much appreciated :)

Thank you in advance,

Kind regards,

Dimitar
