I got interested in wx when I was five years old. That means I have been watching the sky for 67 years. I've never seen anything like that sky. Wow!

Wow! Some really cool images out there for this event, including this one:


I wasn’t even aware of this event, by this time of year I’m kind of in my “dormant mode” (except for local Philadelphia events)…

Take it either as a good thing to always be learning in this hobby, OR an indication that I am pretty much a moron whose knowledge does not support 25 years of chasing, but I didn’t realize green skies were caused by red light refracted through water droplets, I always assumed it was exclusively related to hail…

green=hail is not exactly wrong either, because having enough water in the cloud to refract light that much implies high VIL values, and high VILs are associated with hail
