Amazing change in the last 30 hours this is going to get ugly for the resort areas of the Western Mexico coast. The area that takes a direct hit will be like an EF4 to EF5 hitting them.

This may also bring more rain to Texas as if they need that.

I have probably a dozen suppliers and lots of friends in the path of this beast. I know the EMs at my suppliers are taking the necessary actions. Hope my friends are as well :(

I hope they are fine when this all passes … The coast is going to have problems and then the mountains are right there adding other concerns. Mudslides and washouts are going to be a major concern as well as the storm surge and resulting flooding. Hopefully most people get out of its path even though they have not had much warning at all due to its rapid intensification.

Thankfully, the storm formed rapidly so there is not a lot of time for an even larger / stronger surge to build. I wonder how many ships were caught off guard? The other positive note is that the hurricane force winds seem to only extend out for about 35 miles from the eye. I wish I could be there. Very frustrating. I can only imagine the frantic activity to secure property and move people with such short notice. Has to be an epic operation.

What kind of business are you in....are the maquiladoras you are referring to? Electronics, etc? I did business with Baja California, Mexico and the Guadalajara area for over two decades. It's a different world, but I enjoyed it.....with the exception of the difference in business culture and the "manana" attitude when we'd encounter it. I shipped into the USA 53 ft. 18wheelers of product monthly, and the changes in country-to-country paperwork with the advent of Homeland Security made it difficult and more expensive.

Hey @joel! I work in the auto industry with General Motors in Supplier Quality. Electrical "Accessories" are my responsibility and some of my suppliers include Delphi, Amphenol and Hella (electronics and lighting). So far, so good I guess. I haven't been advised (yet) of any disruptions to the supply chain.
