I'm new to this forum but not new to storm chasing although I haven't been chasing as long as many of the seasoned chasers here have.

Anyways, we've been busy over the past few months upgrading our team. We have a new chase vehicle (Jeep Wrangler), and are slowly getting everything setup for chase season 2019.

Several weeks ago I purchased an Acu-rite Atlas weather station for our chase vehicle and took advantage of the severe weather last week to test everything out. Although it's a new product, I'm impressed with the Acu-rite Atlas. The station held up against us doing 70 mph against 20 mph winds. The station did record a top speed of 95 mph which wasn't storm related.

In the past we've always had an anemometer to keep an eye on the wind while on a severe or tornado warned storm. The Atlas being a full weather station also records the wind and monitors the dew point and air pressure among other things. Eventually I plan to add lightning detection to this as well.

We are using a Kargo Master roof rack kit to mount the weather station and eventually the cameras and ham radio antennas. So far so good!

Skywarn magnets, lights, and custom decals coming soon!
