I vividly remember this beast of storm that formed in KS and tracked down I-70 to the STL area where it put out monstrous hail. The local media talked about it for days afterwards because of the hail damage to new cars and such. I was in 6th Grade at the time and remember the day before the temps had climbed into the low 90's as well as the fact that it was the Cardinals Opening Day. Early in the morning on the 10th there was some convection, but the real show was that evening.
